Empowering knowledge
When I was studying Russian as a child (a story for another time), my teacher Valeria once brought me a plastic card featuring a monkey dressed as a student sitting at a desk. With a puzzled expression, the monkey had a thought bubble over its head saying “Знания – сила,” which translates to “Knowledge is Power.” At the time, I did not realise how profound these words were. Knowledge possesses a unique empowering function, one that we often tend to either minimise or trivialise. This is why I feel so lucky with my job, as it involves producing new knowledge and sharing it. The latter is as crucial as the former because if we accept that “Knowledge is power,” we must also admit that knowledge, when it is not shared, becomes a privilege. Hence, all knowledge we produce should be widely shared to maximise its usefulness, at least theoretically.
Within this “Knowledge Hub,” you will find links to the main pages on Potestas Essendi dedicated to the production and dissemination of “scholarly” knowledge. The “Outreach Hub”, in turn, focuses on the popularisation and sharing of knowledge with societal actors
